REVIEW : Vegreen Nature Mucin Toner & Serum (Non-Snail by Wild Yam)

Hi gangs! This time I'm back with a review of the latest skincare product that I've been trying for 2 weeks. The skincare I'm trying this time is from Vegreen, the latest Korean skincare brand that carries the concept of #cleanbeauty #crueltyfree with their flagship product Vegreen Nature Mucin Toner and Serum which I will review now.

As we know before among skincare enthusiasts, skincare with the name "mucin" is usually made from snail mucus, but this Vegreen uses natural mucin extracted from Wild Yam or wild sweet potato plants which contain phytomucin. These ingredients are known to have benefits for moisturizing and maintaining skin elasticity, very interesting, isn't it?

I was very excited when I tried this product and was curious about the properties of the nature mucin content in this vegreen product, let's check out the review!

For the packaging, the Vegreen Serum and Toner are wrapped in a beige and brown colored box. The brown color in the toner box tends to be deeper, while the serum box has a lighter brown color. The box has a minimalist design and is made of paper from sugarcane residue and is printed using soy ink, it's really environmentally friendly, according to the brand concept of #cleanbeauty. The serum and toner bottles are shaped like normal serums and toners. The packaging label also has 2 sides. Some use the alphabetical alphabet and others use the Hangul alphabet.

Vegreen Nature Mucin Toner

The paper made from 100% sugarcane residue and printed with soy ink

The box is brown ink and in my opinion contrasts with the color of the box itself, which is brown beige, so it's a bit difficult to read product information because the font color is almost the same as the box. Maybe the color of the box can be revised to make it a bit lighter or the font color to be darker so that it's easier to read the product information.

Braille font

Another thing that impressed me with the packaging design is that there is a braille font on the box! Duh, vegreen really intends to make this packaging it can help our friends who have limited vision to get to know their products. I don't know about braille, and I don't know what the meaning of the braille font listed on the toner box and vegreen serum is read. But seriously, vegreen is really interested in making the packaging, this is the first time I got a skincare product that has braille on the packaging, respect for vegreen!

The toner is packaged in a transparent plastic bottle with a white label with the words brown ink containing 250ml. The design is very minimalist and the toner cap is screw-shaped. The liquid toner is easy to remove from the bottle and it is easy to adjust the number of drops of toner that you want to dispense. Oh yes, when it's new, the mouth of the toner bottle is equipped with a protector like it's made of white rubber to protect the contents of the toner.

Vegreen Nature Mucin Serum

The vegreen serum packaging is also made of transparent plastic with the same design as the toner. The packaging looks simple and clean. The contents are 50 ml. Oh yes, the shape of the serum applicator is a pump, while the serum cap is unique in my opinion, usually the serum cap with the pump applicator is removed so it covers the entire pump, now this vegreen serum cap only covers part of the serum applicator like the photo below.

It's very easy to open it, just push it gently with your index finger outwards, remove the serum cap. You just have to be careful, because the shape of the lid is very small, so it's prone to falling and it might get lost, so open it slowly so it doesn't fall.

Overall, I really like the design and packaging concept, which is simple and not weird. Very representative with the brand tagline #cleanbeauty.

Judging from its claims, this vegreen nature mucin toner and serum claims to restore tired skin and increase skin vitality. It's really simple, it's not too grandiose to claim the product. The two products have different percentages of wild yam extract, the toner is 68% and the serum is 63%. The interesting thing about both of them is that apart from wild yam, their product also contains centella asiatica leaf water which is good for skin, especially skin that is prone to breakouts or acne. The toner also contains various types of hyaluronic acid which is good for hydrating the skin, while the serum also contains niacinamide (vitamin B3), panthenol (vitamin B5), peptides and ceramides which are very good for the skin, especially for moisturizing, increasing the strength of the skin barrier and increasing skin vitality. . I think the ingredients list contains good ingredients, so you can say it's simple ingredients because there aren't too many ingredients. I don't see any alcohol, fragrance or parabens in the ingredients.
Fyi, I use this series of Vegreen Nature Mucin products only to PM my skincare routine, aka at night. Because for AM skincare I use my other skincare. Let's talk about the performance of the product which I will divide into two parts:

Vegreen Nature Mucin Toner
This toner product impressed me since the first time I used it, the texture is a bit thick and foamy, similar to products that contain snail mucin and the color is clear and transparent. When you put it on, it doesn't drip like normal toner liquid. Although the texture is a bit thick, surprisingly it absorbs quickly and doesn't leave a sticky feeling at all. Previously, I've tried essence products that contain snail mucin and it's a bit sticky after using it, but the phytomucin in this vegetable actually feels more comfortable because it's not sticky. I think the texture of this toner is really comfortable, all skin types will definitely like the texture. According to the claim, this serum does not contain alcohol in it, so I think this is a plus point for the product because it is more friendly to the skin, especially for sensitive-skin owners. Another thing I like is that I hardly smell any fragrance in this toner. Lately I prefer skincare products that are less fragrance or fragrance free so this Vegreen Nature Mucin toner product meets my expectations for that.

Usually I use it without cotton after using a face wash or exfoliating toner, I immediately put 5-7 drops on my palms and then I apply and tap on my face. Feels very comfortable. The skin is instantly moisturised, especially if you use 2 layers, the skin becomes plump and ready to receive the next skincare. Oh yes, when I used this product, I had a pimple on my cheek. This vegreen nature mucin toner really helped calm my acne, which was about to die, until it got really dead and dry. Maybe because this vegreen toner not only contains phytomucin, it also contains centella asiatica leaf water which is known to be good for calming acne. For 2 weeks of using it, I didn't feel any negative reactions from the vegreen nature mucin. Since I used it for the first time, I didn't feel any tingling effect when I tried it, instead it had a refreshing and uncomfortable effect, especially after using exfo toner and then layering it with vegreen nature mucin, the skin feels so moisturised and plump. Now my skin's skin barrier is much better now and the pores on my skin are also much less visible and my skin texture is smoother, I like it!

Swatches of Vegreen Nature Mucin Toner & Serum

Vegreen Nature Mucin Serum
I was very excited to try the serum because I saw the texture which is typical of the serum texture that I like, which is a gel texture serum. In fact, I think the texture is like jelly and almost similar to snail mucin serum, transparent in color, thick and foamy. After trying it, I really like the texture of this gel, the serum does take some time to absorb, but once it's absorbed, there's no sticky feeling at all, the skin is moisturised and there's a glowing effect on the face, that's dewy. I really like it according to the claim, this vegreen serum is fragrance-free, so it's a plus point for skin, especially for those of you who are sensitive-skin or avoid fragrance in skincare products.

Oh yes, I use vegreen nature mucin Serun after using the toner, I put 3 drops of it on and I rub it while massaging it outwards so that it is completely absorbed. After that, continue to use the night cream.

Sorry for different lighting,
will update soon after 1 month of using ^^

After using it for two weeks starting from June 17 - July 1, 2021, I noticed that my skin now doesn't look so dull, which is why I often stay up late but when I wake up in the morning my face still looks fresh. I also notice that my skin is a bit brighter after using this vegreen serum+toner. Even though this serum doesn't claim to lighten my skin, I don't know if I feel my skin is getting a little brighter or it could be because the serum products work well with other skincare products that I use. Another thing I have noticed is that my skin texture is much smoother than before and my pores are a bit more blurry. My skin is more hydrated and doesn't dry out easily. This vegreen serum is also quite helpful in calming my PMS acne, it helps not become inflamed and dry quickly.

If you want to get rid of acne scars, it seems that this serum takes a long time to disguise it. I didn't really expect this serum to quickly cover up acne scars, considering that the main claim of this serum is to increase skin vitality and the skin barrier, so yeah its fine, maybe next time I'll rely on other products specifically to disguise acne scars to make it more visible. maximum. During the use of the serum I did not feel any negative effects such as breakouts or tingling effects. Usually when I try new products my skin likes to have a tingling reaction, but when I tried vegreen there was no tingling effect on my skin at all.

It's a good product! I really like both of the products from Vegreen I'm confused if I have to choose, I fall in love with the serum, it's really a typical serum that I like. The toner is also very comfortable in texture, even though it's a toner, it can provide sufficient moisture to the skin without feeling sticky. These two products work synergistically to restore moisture and increase my skin barrier. For 2 weeks of using it, no pimples appeared, but previously there was 1 pimple on my cheek before I used vegreen and it was a pimple before PMS, so vegreen helped me deal with my acne. At first I didn't have high expectations for the product because reading the product claims, it's really simple, but after trying it, the product gives good results on my skin, I'm really happy. Vegreen could be one of the skincare products that I will repurchase in the future, I think.

You can get this Vegreen product on the Amazon/eBay platform or click on the following link the Vegreen Ebay Store. For the price, it's a bit pricey, but I think it's worth it for the results you get. When I checked just now on ebay, the price of the serum and toner is again a 15% discount promo at the price of IDR. 225,362 from the normal price of IDR. 265,000, then for the toner IDR. 266,231 from the normal price of IDR. 331,000. I think the delivery was quite fast, within 1 week the package arrived at my house in a safe condition, and luckily free shipping when I checked on ebay. Even though the package from Korea was sent directly. For more information, you can go to vegreen's instagram at @vegreen_official. The admin is very friendly and answered all my questions at that time about their products, but indeed the ngDM must use English, man.

Okay, guys, that's all my review this time, I hope it helps. See you on another review^^
